David Campbell - President, Founder
Formerly VP Engineering/Research & Development at Graco Children’s Products, Inc. for its Century Products brand. Spent 24 years at Fisher-Price, Inc. in the development and testing of toys, children’s products and child restraint systems (car seats). Holds a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Buffalo and AAS degree in Mechanical Technology from the State University of New York at Morrisville. Over 45 years of experience in the development, engineering, manufacturing, and quality of juvenile products and toys for children. Actively involved for over 30 years in the development of voluntary standards for juvenile products through the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) and voluntary standards for child restraint systems through the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and International Standards Organization (ISO). Chairman of the SAE Child Restraint Standards Committee from 2000 to 2015. Chairman of the ASTM Committee on High Chairs. Previously chaired the Non-Full Size Cribs Committee. Juvenile Manufacturers Association (JPMA) Certification Committee chairman 1996 to 1999 and technical consultant to JPMA for juvenile products and car seat standards 2006 to 2015. Member of the Blue Ribbon Panel I and Blue Ribbon Panel II established by President Clinton to make recommendations for child passenger safety. Advisory Board member for the Partners for Child Passenger Safety (PCPS) program operated by the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia 1998 to 2001 and now member of Technical Advisory Board. Member of the editorial review board for Safe Ride News 2002 to 2014. Member of the National Transportation Safety Board - Occupant Restraint Committee since 2004.
Corey Campbell - Vice President, Partner
With David E. Campbell & Associates since 2003, his primary involvement has been in the design, standards, safety evaluations, and testing of juvenile products and child restraints. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology and has over 12 years of experience in the design, manufacture, and engineering of children’s products and more than 15 years of experience in the Engineering field. Activities at DECA include new product development, design reviews, safety and hazard reviews, development of instruction manuals and product labels, test plans and testing of product samples for compliance. He has been actively involved in the ASTM voluntary standards development process for children’s products and the SAE Child Restraint Standards Committee since 2003; currently chairman of the Ad-hoc Scope Group for ASTM juvenile product standards and assistant chairman of the SAE Child Restraint Systems Committee. He has taken the NHTSA approved Child Passenger Safety Training (CPS Technician). He is also a member of the Safe Ride News Editorial Review Board since 2011 and an active member of the International Standards Organizations Working Group for Child Restraint Systems.
